When existing books need attention

This service helps when transactions have already been recorded but the books need review and correction.

Signs your QuickBooks file may need cleanup

  • Duplicate transactions that overstate income or expenses.
  • Bank or credit card accounts that haven’t been reconciled.
  • QuickBooks balances that don’t match account statements.
  • Transactions assigned to incorrect categories.
  • Unexplained balances or older items that need investigation.

We review your file to identify the work needed, then agree on the corrections, periods, accounts, and project price before work begins.

Work defined around your file

Cleanup covers the review and correction of existing books, including agreed transaction corrections, reconciliations, and balance reviews. The periods, accounts, and corrections included are established after reviewing your file.

Unrecorded historical months are catch-up bookkeeping. Ongoing monthly bookkeeping, system conversions, tax returns, payroll processing and filing, and other work outside the agreed cleanup scope are separately quoted.

Custom project pricing

Request a custom quote. Pricing reflects the periods, account count, transaction volume, condition of the records, and work needed. We agree on the scope and fixed quote before work begins.

50% deposit to begin; balance due at completion.

The cleanup process

  1. Submit an inquiry, then discuss the records and concerns by email or consultation.
  2. Share requested records through the secure client portal and arrange QuickBooks access.
  3. We review the file and agree on corrections, scope, and pricing.
  4. Once the deposit is paid, we perform the agreed cleanup and follow up on missing information.
  5. We review the completed work against the agreed scope; the balance is due at completion.

A few things to know.

How is cleanup different from catch-up?

Cleanup corrects records that already exist. Catch-up records historical months that have not been entered. A business may need both, with the scope agreed before work begins.

Is cleanup included in a monthly package?

Historical cleanup is separately quoted from ongoing monthly bookkeeping.

Can you quote without seeing the file?

We need to understand the records and work required before confirming the project scope and price.
